This is our new patrol car to replace the one totaled on December 3rd while assisting other agencies in their pursuit of a stolen vehicle on Hwy 218.
It was purchased from Shottenkirk in Mt Pleasant at a cost of $25,578. It is a 2019 all-wheel-drive Dodge Charger. We also looked at a Chevrolet Tahoe, a Dodge Durango, and a Ford Explorer. They would have cost $29,625 to $34,000.
The Winfield Police Department would like to thank the Mt Pleasant and Wapello Police Departments for allowing us to borrow a patrol car until we could take delivery of our new one.
We would also like to thank the Keokuk Police Department for giving us the light bar installed on the Charger. It is several years newer than what we had. This newer light bar has a lower profile and is much brighter because it is LED.
